Osuna has two home runs in Japanese preseason

Seven Venezuelans get ready for the 2023 campaign of Japanese baseball

The Trujillo starter for the Golondrinas de Yakult, José Osuna, has dispatched two home runs in the preparation matches for the 2023 Japanese baseball campaign.

Osuna, 30 years old, who accumulated four years of experience (2017-20) in the Major Leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates team, gave his kick in the Sunday game that the Golondrinas beat the Hanshin Tigers by shutout of 2-0.

The tough Andean slugger is preparing to play his third season with the Golondrinas, after he set personal highs in home runs (2022) and RBIs (20) in 74.

Along with Osuna, six other Venezuelan players are getting ready for the 2023 Japanese campaign.

Left-handed reliever Edwin Escobar will be back with the Yokohama Stars; Freddy Galvis repeats with the Fukuoka team, with which Willians Astudillo will debut; Yohander Méndez is with Yomiuri, Jesús Tinoco will reinforce the Leones de Seibu and the uility Marwin González will wear the shirt of the Búfalos de Orix.
