The right-wing Mirandino Royber Salinas remains as líder in strikeouts of all minor leagues, with 63 opponents struck out in seven appearances with two Class A affiliates of the Atlanta Braves.
Salinas, 21, began the season with the Augusta Greenjackets club. In five starts he went 0-1 with a 1.52 ERA, 12 walks and 52 strikeouts, the latter a record high in the Carolina League.
The Braves promoted him the first week of May to the Rome Braves of the South Atlantic League. Strong class A level.

In two appearances, he has retired eleven batters by way of strikeout in 5.2 innings. On Day 7 against Grenville Drive (Red Sox) he experienced his worst outing as he allowed a home run in 0.2 innings and just struck out.
On May 11 against Winston Salem Dash (White Sox) he obtained his first victory, thanks to a good job of five innings in which he allowed a solo home run, gave a walk and prescribed a total of ten strikeouts.
Salinas is líder in strikeouts from all MLB-affiliated minor league clubs with 63 strikeouts in 29.1 innings.
