Arcia brothers will make history in the Lions

Orlando Arcia joined the Leones del Caracas this Friday to shield the defense

Orlando Arcia joined the Leones del Caracas this Friday to shield the defense and strengthen the offense for the last weeks of the regular season.

The big league Atlanta Braves joined his older brother Oswaldo, who has been at the disposal of manager José Alguacil since the beginning of the season. Both came to the long-haired in the offseason from Caribes de Anzoátegui.

For Orlando it will be his first campaign in Venezuela since 2018-2019, when he played 19 games with the tribe and left a .333 average. His debut with the capital will allow him to meet his fans again and will also give him the opportunity to make history with his brother.

And it is that according to the LVBP website, when the Arcia brothers share ground again "they will become the eighth pair of brothers who see action" with the capital.

They will then join, according to historian Tony Flores, to:

  • Jesus and Mateo Alou
  • Alfonso and Domingo Carrasquel
  • Alfonso and Martin Carrasquel
  • Pompeyo and Victor Davalillo
  • Hector and Roberto Urbano
  • Nelson and Manuel Garcia
  • Bob and Nelson Abreu

Orlando Arcia is preparing to play his fifth season on the circuit. For his league career he has 140 hits, including 43 extra-base hits, 71 RBIs and a .285 career average.
