Ángel Rondón is the second foreigner from Águilas

There is movement in the nest. The Águias del Zulia announced Dominican pitcher Ángel Rondón as their second import for the 2023-2024 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).

The 25-year-old right-hander joins outfielder Niko Hulsizer as the only foreigners confirmed by the club for the upcoming contest, which opens on October 21 against Magallanes.

Ángel Rondón comes from a brief internship in MLB with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2021 and 2022, adding 7.0 immaculate innings. Now in his six years in the minors he went 28-25 with a 3.41 earned run average and 465 strikeouts.

His first experience in Venezuela was last season with Magallanes. He completed 3.18 XNUMX/XNUMX innings, spread over five appearances, and left with a XNUMX ERA and five strikeouts.
