Julio Rodríguez reached the dozen home runs

The Dominican leads the department of home runs among the rookies in the American League

The Dominican Julio Rodríguez, of the Seattle Sailors, hit his 12th home run of the 2022 Major League Baseball (MLB) season on Wednesday.

At the bottom of the fourth inning, Rodriguez punished a short pitch from Baltimore Orioles reliever Nick Vespi to get the ball out to left field.

According to Baseball Savant, the 21-year-old Dominican's connection, posted an exit speed of 109.3 miles per hour and traveled 431 feet at T-Mobile Park.

With this hit from four corners, the native of Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic, reached 38 RBI runs in one trip.

As for the rookies, Julio Rodríguez leads the American League in home runs and is in a close fight with Bobby Witt, of the Kansas City Royals, in order to win the Rookie of the Year award for the "young circuit."

As for the performance of the Venezuelans in this game, Rougned Odor shot his double 11 and Abraham Toro hit two to reach nine.

Thanks to Rodríguez and his teammates, the Mariners were left with the challenge (9 to 3) against the golden team to now show a mark of 36-41, 12.5 games behind the Houston Astros.
