Dominican baseball player Julio Rodríguez, of the Seattle Sailors, recorded the same numbers as the immortal Ken Griffey Jr. in his first 79 games in the Major Leagues (MLB, for its acronym in English).

The native of Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic, is one of the candidates to win the American League Rookie of the Year award.
The young ballplayer, 21, leads the home run (14) and RBI (41) departments among rookies. Also, he is colíder in doubles (16).

Despite a conservative first month of the campaign, the Dominican outfielder seems to be already adapted to the "Big Show" and the great expectations that are expected of his game.
"It's a dream that comes true now," Julio Rodríguez said in March after hearing the news that he managed to make the Mariners' big team.

For his part, manager Scott Servais stated that his boy “has tremendous ceiling and potential due to his ability in the outfield. I think what everyone is excited about is his joy and passion for playing baseball.”
“He loves baseball, he really does. He loves being a part of what we're doing. And apparently, it will be an important piece of this in the future, ”she stressed.
