Aaron Judge tied Maris' home run record

"The Judge" will have seven games to try to set a new record in the American League

The slugger Aaron Judge, figure of the New York Yankees, matched Roger Maris' home run mark on Wednesday night, after connecting his 61st home run of the 2022 Major League Baseball (MLB) campaign.

After 21 shifts without taking the ball out of the park, "The Judge" punished a shipment by Tim Mayza, reliever of the Toronto Blue Jays, to tie Maris's historical record and break the parity on the scoreboard.

According to Baseball Savant, the powerhouse outfielder's connection, with a runner at first, posted an exit speed of 117.4 miles per hour and traveled 394 feet.

With this four-corner hit, Aaron Judge reached 130 RBIs.

The New York ranger will have seven games left to set a new record for most home runs in a season in both the American League and the Yankees organization.

The victory in this historic game went to Gerrit Cole (13-7), who pitched a perfect game until the sixth inning, after six and a third innings of work.

The Yankees (96-59), who won the American League East Division pennant on Tuesday, will now aim to reach 100 wins and finish as well as possible heading into the postseason.
