This Tuesday, July 20, in Miranda, the U17 Regional Qualifiers began, with a view to the U17 Men's National Championship, which is scheduled to take place next August. 23 associations that make up the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB) were divided into four zones according to their proximity in order to compete for the eight places that will be awarded for the National Championship of the category.

This event, which continues with the minor basketball development plan in the country, will be played in four (4) venues: Miranda, Monagas, Carabobo and Barinas; and will have the presence of international referees.

The U17 Regional Qualifiers are the starting point of the minor training process that has as its primary objective the preparation of young people in the U17 category with a view to the U17 South American Tournament, which will host Venezuela.

Details of the U17 Regional Playoffs

In each of the venues, a tie will be played with the classic “all against all” format, and the two best teams from each group - eight in total - will qualify for the U17 National Basketball Championship.

The participating regions and teams are as follows:

Central Region: Apure, Aragua, Capital District, Guárico, La Guaira and Miranda.
Date: from July 20 to July 24.

Venue: Miranda.

Eastern Region: Anzoátegui, Bolívar, Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Nueva Esparta and Sucre.
Date: from July 22 to July 25.

Headquarters: Monagas.

Western region: Barinas, Falcón, Mérida, Táchira, Trujillo and Zulia.

Date: from 03 to 07 August.

Headquarters: Barinas.

Central-Western Region: Amazonas, Carabobo, Lara, Portuguesa and Yaracuy.

Date: from 03 to 07 August.

Headquarters: Carabobo.

The delegations will be able to follow the tournament through the FIBA ​​Live Stats platform.

Thus begins the path of the U17 generation that will represent Venezuela in the upcoming South American of the category.
