La Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) will pause its calendar until the end of Venezuela's participation in Americup 2022, which will take place from tomorrow until September 11 on Brazilian soil.
This was announced this Thursday by the Minister of People's Power for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, after holding a meeting with the presidents of the SPB and the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB).
In a fraternal meeting with Pdtes FVB and SPB we agreed to guarantee that our National Team athletes play in the Professional SuperLiga, for which they will pause the calendar during AmeriCup, starting 2 Sep until the end of Vzla's participation

The measure was taken with the aim of putting an end to the controversy that arose by not allowing the players of the national team to rejoin their respective SPB teams, despite not receiving the call to represent Venezuela in the Americup.
