The NBA changed the minimum time frame for teams to submit their respective lineups before games.
Now the coaches or the representative of the coaching staff who delivers the team's payroll for the corresponding game, must do so 30 minutes before the buzzer sounds, instead of 10 minutes before.
Exceptions may be warranted for injuries or extreme causes.
The measure is part of a package that seeks to improve the game and balance the conditions so that all teams have the same initial opportunity to succeed.
That's why Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, spoke after the "board of governors" convention about it. He detailed that they will look at free agency to break the rules, such as conversations with free agents ahead of time.
