The Slovenia team managed to defeat the Italian national team 89-85 in their last match of the qualifying phase for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The duel was closely contested by both fifth-rowers who constantly exchanged the advantage, something that was reflected in the victory of each of the quarter-finalists.
Italy took the first and last quarter with scores of (18-15 and 25-19), while the Slovenia team won the match in the second and third periods with scores of (23-27 and 19-28).

The figure of the match was as usual Luka Doncic with a double-double of 29 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Mike Tobey followed him with 12 points and 3 rebounds.
For Italy, the top scorer was Marco Spissu with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists, accompanied by Simone Fontecchio with 16 points and one rebound.
