Cayenas ambushed Taurinas and took the lead in the semifinal

With an overwhelming last quarter, in which they doubled their rival's production (30-15), Cayenas de Carabobo came from behind and beat Taurinas de Girardot 64-72 on Wednesday.

Ivaney Márquez and Yosimar Corrales imposed their law in the Mauricio Johnson Gymnasium and the Carabobeñas won the first game of the semifinal, a series to the best of five games.

With a solid defense, and taking advantage of their local team, Taurinas comfortably dominated the first (14-7) and second quarter (13-11) to reach halftime ahead 27-18.

But all his domain was diluted when he returned from the locker room.

The third quarter was a real give and take. Endrina Bolívar commanded Taurinas and Yosimar Corrales did the same for Cayenas, who finally won the set by two points (22-24).

Everything was defined at the end of the match, Ivaney Márquez brought out all her experience and led an offensive attack that Taurinas failed to contain.

Beginning the dispute of the final five minutes, with a layup Yosimar Corrales gave Cayenas the lead for the first time in the game (58-59). From there, the carabobeñas did not lose control of the game again.
