"Nobody gives up here," said Bucaneros de La Guaira this Thursday when he left the Parque Miranda court after beating Diablos de Miranda 78-70.
Although Diablos won the first quarter comfortably (24-16), the Littoral defense stood strong at the end of the first half and managed to go to rest down on the scoreboard only by four points (36-32).
At the beginning of the second half, Bucaneros came out aggressive and with 11 points from Eduardo Díaz he managed to win 28-18 to go to the last 10 minutes with a 60-54 advantage.
Diablos was always close and even managed to tie at 62 still with more than seven minutes to play. That was then when Bucaneros grew and hardened the defense to be able to detach itself and tie the victory.
Díaz finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists, while Irving Heredia -from the bench- added 17 points and eight rebounds.
Jesus Centeno stood out for Diablos with 21 cards.
