"Here nobody gives up" said Bucaneros de La Guaira this Thursday when he left the Parque Miranda court after beating Diablos de Miranda 78-70.
Although Diablos comfortably won the first quarter (24-16), the defense of the coast stood strong at the end of the first half and managed to go to halftime down on the scoreboard by only four points (36-32).
At the beginning of the second half, the Bucaneros came out aggressive and with 11 points from Eduardo Díaz, they managed to win 28-18 to go into the last 10 minutes with a 60-54 advantage.
Diablos was always close and even managed to tie at 62 with more than seven minutes to play. That was when the Buccaneers grew and toughened up the defense to be able to take off and clinch the victory.
Díaz finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists, while Irving Heredia -off the bench- added 17 points and eight rebounds.
For Devils, Jesús Centeno stood out with 21 cards.
