Piratas de La Guaira started the SPB postseason on the right foot. The coastal team beat Panteras de Miranda 78-72 at the José Maria Vargas Dome on Thursday.
Those led by Melvyn López went up in the series 1-0.
Led by Juan Suero, who scored 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and gave three assists, the Guairista team went ahead in the series.
Qiydar Davis had a great day, scoring 18 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out two assists for the Pirates.

Rigoberto Mendoza also stood out with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists for the coastal team.
Pedro Chourio was the best performer for Panteras with 23 points.
