Phil Henry is ready to debut with Spartans

The American passed the medical and physical evaluations and has gained pace of play

Phil Henry arrived a week ago at the preseason of Spartans Capital District, from Texas, United States. And after numerous practice sessions, he claims to be ready to debut on the opening day of the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB), next Saturday, July 09, against Guaiqueríes de Margarita.

“I am ready for the debut. This will be a very special week because we will have the full team (Venezuelan players)…. We will gain experience and fluency when executing the game plan”, explained the imported player in statements shared by the team.

Language barriers have not prevented Phil Henry from working on a daily basis and all his colleagues have helped them in their adaptation process.

“Everything is flowing. This is a great group of players… I'm trying to know the strengths and weaknesses of my teammates so I know in what aspects I can contribute more”, explained the native of New Jersey.

"Right now I'm working on understanding plays and taking on more responsibilities: scoring and creating possessions," he added.

As detailed by the Spartans press department, Phil Henry is ready to play, passed medical and physical evaluations and has gained pace of play.
