Quickly recovering from the setback of the previous day and strengthening the defense was the key to the victory that Guaiqueríes achieved this Wednesday against the Supersonics, in Parque Miranda, to stay one game away from the semifinal.
Edgar “Petare” Martínez, protagonist of the victory with 14 points, affirmed that stopping imported Leandro Vildoza and Efianayi Tanksley was decisive.
"Today we defended very well and that was the key to the game... we were able to stop Vildoza and Efianayi more and from then on our offense worked," said the Mirandino.
"It all boils down to the fact that we made fewer mistakes than they did," he insisted.
The forward of the tribe assured that for them it has been no surprise that Jetsons have improved in their last two presentations.
"The Jetsons is a pretty tough team that fights every game, we have never underestimated them," he said confidently.
"Petare" Martinez even admitted that they enjoy the fact that the series has become more close.
“We like that kind of games, it makes us grow more and makes us more competitive, it prepares us for what is to come”, he considered.
"Personally, I continue to work on my long-distance shots and I remain focused on the fact that at any moment I will enter the court and I have to give everything," he concluded.
