Guaros de Lara opened their season at the Bolivarian Dome with a resounding 82-76 victory against Llaneros de Guárico.
More than 4000 people gathered at the arena in Barquisimeto to receive the first match of the 2023 SPB season. And before that capacity, the dominance of Guaros was indisputable.
The local quintet dominated the first set 26-11 and barely gave up two points in the second quarter (21-23) to reach halftime ahead 47-34.

In the second half the exact same thing happened. Guaros left his record at 3-1 and tied Trotamundos de Carabobo for second place in the SPB Western Conference.
Rodney Green was once again the top scorer for the Lara team, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Heissler Guillent escorted him with 16 points, while José "El Grillo" Vargas shone with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
For Llaneros (1-3) the best was Yerri Flores with 24 cards.
