Guaiqueríes de Margarita began their journey through the 2023 Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) in style. The insular team defeated Gigantes de Guayana 97-58 this Tuesday at the Ciudad de La Asunción Gymnasium.
Those led by coach Pablo Favarel were broad dominators of the commitment.
In the first quarter, the team from Margarita had a 13-0 lead. There the difference was marked in a period that ended 25-13 in favor of the islanders.
For the second quarter, Gigantes cut the difference momentarily to five points (32-27). However, Guaiqueríes tightened in defense and with triples by David Cubillan, Tre Mclean and Gendry Correa ended the first half with an 18-point advantage (47-29).

In the second half, the quintet from Margarita did not slow down and Gigantes could not face it, increasing the score to 79 out of 45.
And as the basketball manuals state, in the final period there was rotation of players from both teams and the score ended 97-58 in favor of Guaiqueríes.
Tre McLean was the líder scorer of the match with 18 points, also collected five rebounds.
David Cubillan also had an outstanding 15-touchdown effort, hitting three XNUMX-pointers in four attempts and distributing six assists.
