With a brilliant collective game, Trotamundos de Carabobo managed to impose its law in the Olympic Dome and scored a 74-79 victory against Llaneros de Guárico. The current SPB champion remains undefeated after two presentations.
The locals came out strong and a solid defense set the tone at the beginning of the match. So much so that they finished the first quarter up by eight (26-18).
However, in the following section they could not maintain that rhythm and the "Blue Express" responded forcefully supported by Donta Smith. The Carabobeños dominated that quarter 11-25 to reach the break with a six-point lead (37-43).
Returning from the locker room, Llaneros rediscovered their game and dominated the third quarter 22-18 to only trail behind by two (59-61) heading into the last 10 minutes.
But Trotamundos toughened up the defense and relied on Mario Little and Jhornan Zamora to score every time the local team approached.
