Caribeñas de Caracas defeated Capitalinas from the Capital District for the second consecutive day, this time 63-75 to make the series 2-0 and stay one step away from the final.
Yulianny García had a spectacular start and scored the first ten points for her team, giving Capitalinas the lead in the first quarter. But Genesis Rivera and Waleska Pérez took control of the Caribbean offense and turned the score around as Caribeñas finished the first quarter leading 12-14.
In the second quarter, the Caracas attack began to have more fluidity with Jormelys Urbina and Vanessa Sánchez contributing points for their team. Pérez continued to manage the driving and Rivera made himself felt in the paint.
The only response from the capital came from García, who kept getting the spaces to score. Caribeñas reached the break up by five (30-35).
Upon returning from the locker room, Capitalinas had a higher field goal percentage and the offensive rotations improved to change the dynamics of the game. Johan Ramírez and Fabiana García appeared to support Yulianny in the attack and reduce the difference to just one point (50-51).
However, in the last set, Caribeñas once again took control of the match thanks to an excellent Waleska Pérez, who scored 16 points in that section alone.
For the winners, Pérez was the most outstanding with a new triple double of 25 points, 22 rebounds and 11 assists. Génesis Rivera escorted her with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
For Capitalinas, Yulianny García was the top scorer of the commitment with 30 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.
The third of the series, the best of five, will be held on Sunday, again at Parque Miranda, but with local Caribeñas.
