Gregory Echenique was announced as a new player for the Fukushima Firebonds of Japan, for the 2022-2023 season of the B2 B.League.
Echenique comes from playing two seasons in B1 with Hiroshima Dragonflies.
In the 2021-2022 B.League season, the 31-year-old center played 52 games for Hiroshima, averaging 9.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.8 blocks.
Gregory debuted in the first division in the 2020-2021 season, averaging 17.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks.

Fukushima Firebonds finished the 2021-2022 season of the B2 B.League with a 34-18 record, ranking third in the East zone and falling in the quarterfinals against Sendai 89ers.
Gregory Echenique said goodbye to the Hiroshima Dragonflies fans with a post on his Instagram account where he thanked him for his time with the orange team.
