Already in the third quarter, Colombia prevailed by three points (15-12). Although it seemed like an easy victory for the cast of the neighboring country, those led by Eduardo Pinto continued to fight and seconds before the "buzzer" sounded, they matched the actions to 57 units.
However, the Colombians ended up on the podium by winning in extra time 10-6.
Asked what was the key to the game, the Venezuelan player Daniela Wallen indicated that "they took advantage of the mistakes we made."
"It's painful to lose by a few points and knowing that missing free throws cost us the bronze medal," Wallen said.
Despite fourth place, Wallen said they achieved their goal of qualifying for the Women's Americup. In that sense, she stated that she only has to continue improving for next year's tournament.
