Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic was named NBA Most Valuable Player for the second straight year on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old Serbian becomes only the second international player to win the coveted award twice in a row. The Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo had already done it in 2019 and 2020.

With brilliant averages of 27,1 points, 13,8 rebounds and 7,9 assists, Jokic managed to beat Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers) and Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks) himself.
Jokic received 875 total votes, 169 more than Embiid - who was nominated for the award for the first time.
Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns finished fourth on the ballot, followed by Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks.
