The New York Knicks reported that one of their top stars, Julius Randle, had to go under the knife to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle.
According to information provided by ESPN journalist Adrian Wojnarowski, the player will be out for the entire summer and hopes to be ready for next season as soon as possible.
The surgery is because Randle played in the recent playoffs with two ankle sprains that affected his performance on the court.

The first of these he suffered against the Cleveland Cavaliers and later suffered another sprain against the Miami Heat in the conference semifinals.
During the regular season he played a total of 77 games in which he averaged 25,1 points, 10 rebounds and 4,1 assists in 35,5 minutes per day.
Randle was also called to the All-Star Game for the second time in his career and was a fundamental part of the Knicks' scheme.
His contract with the New Yorkers gives him two more guaranteed seasons until the end of the 2025-2026 season..
