Betting on the future and the development of young talents is the premise with which Diablos de Miranda will reappear in the 2023 season of the SPB (Professional Basketball Super League). The Argentine coach Lucas Gil Russo and Manuel Echezuria lead this project, now together with the experienced Juan Manaure.
His story is well known. The death of his 15-year-old son pushed him to quit basketball and stay out of the public eye in 2017. But over the years he decided to teach in his honor through the Dereck Manaure Academy.

Being able to train a new generation is what now brings him to Diablos. Its purpose is to teach from the competition itself.
"This is an entrepreneurial project in which you are going to work with young boys and that is the idea... Maybe I will play the whole season or maybe not, but I want to be in the organization because they are committed to the future," he explained in statements to UNTv .
