The Venezuelan José Ascanio will be the brand new reinforcement of the Quimsa Athletic Association, a team of the National Basketball League (LNB) in Argentina.
The announcement was made by the Santiago del Estero club on their social networks, where they stated that the Guariqueño will replace his compatriot Garly Sojo (He returned to Venezuela in mutual agreement with the team) ahead of the playoffs.
Ascanio arrives at Fusión after a brief stint at Aguada in the Uruguayan League. During his time in Uruguay, he averaged 14.3 points and 8.0 rebounds in four games he played as a center, which is not his usual position.
This is the second time that the Venezuelan plays in Argentina, since in the 2019-2020 season he wore the colors of Estudiantes registering 5.2 goals and 4.2 catches during 13 commitments.
Quimsa awaits rival
The Santiago team advanced as líder in the regular season with a record of 30-8 and now, together with the other top three in the tables, they await a rival.
This waiting time gives the Calabozo native time to join the club to which he will contribute in the paint.
"La Fusion" wants to get even this campaign by obtaining the title that eluded them in the previous harvest when they fell against San Lorenzo.
