The German team established itself this Sunday as the new champion of the 2023 Basketball World Cup after beating the Serbian team in a disputed duel with a score of 88-77.
The duel started with a first half that favored the Serbians by ending with a partial score of 23-26. However, the Germans gained strength for the second period by tying the game at 47 points to go into halftime with the aim of taking the lead.
When they returned from half-time, the Germans showed impressive defensive power that slowed Serbia's game down to a score of 22-10 in the third period.
The game became complicated for Germany in the last quarter, because despite their comfortable advantage, the Serbians gained strength to seek a tie, putting the game within two points on several occasions.

The great figure of the game was Dennis Schröder with his 28 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. He was backed up by Franz Wagner with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
For Serbia, the best scorer was Aleksa Avramovic with 21 points, 2 assists and one rebound, while Bogdan Bogdanovic added 17 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists.
This is the first time in history that the German team wins the FIBA World Cup, while the Serbian team finishes with the silver medal for the second time in the last three editions.
