The team Portuguese centaurs defeated Broncos de Caracas on Monday night (78-81) to take control of the series (2-1).
In a duel played at the José Joaquín "Papá" Carrillo Gymnasium, the quintet from the capital went "all the way", taking advantage of the blunders of their opponent, who only managed to score their first points with 4:45 left on the clock, to take the convincing first quarter (21-9).
Already in the second quarter, Centauros adjusted on both sides of the court (offensive and defensive) to prevail 13-28 and go to halftime up on the scoreboard by three units.
At the beginning of the second half, both teams maintained parity on the scoreboard (25-24) to define things in the last quarter.
Centauros was able to close the game by one point (19-20) and thus take advantage in the semifinal series against Broncos.
"They (Broncos) won us a game on our field and we came to win yes or yes," revealed Juan Arengo in a post-match interview on SimpleTV.
The Argentine shooting guard for Centauros acknowledged that "the team had a poor defense in the first quarter and then we made a great defensive display."
“We had a great second half and we took Garly Sojo well. We will be ready for tomorrow (Tuesday) for another (sports) war », he stressed.
In addition to the fourth Broncos-Centauros match, tomorrow the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) will record a full day with the restart of the other matches.
