Covid-19 wreaks havoc on Luis Sojo's Tigres

The Tigres de Licey must suspend their calendar at least until Monday, after it was confirmed at their ranks that at least a dozen cases of Covid-19 in the last 48 hours.

Those led by Venezuelan Luis Sojo will only return to action if the tests scheduled for Sunday do not show more positives.

According to MLB, the positive cases correspond to both baseball players and members of the coaching staff.

The President of the team, Domingo Pichardo, expressed in a statement that he was abiding by the disposition of the health authorities and will apply the protocols established by the Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic.

At the start of the season, Leones lead the standings with a 3-2 record, followed by Tigres (2-1), Gigantes (2-2), Águilas (2-3), Toros (1-1) and Stars (1-2).
