The Mexican Pacific League became this Thursday the first winter circuit in the Caribbean that begins its 2020-2021 season amid the Covid-19 pandemic. And the Venezuelan Balbino Fuenmayor made his debut in style.

His Águilas de Mexicali fell to the Yaquis de Obregon, 7-5, but the Venezuelan finished 3-2 with a double and a couple of RBIs that left his average at .667.

 Mexicali scored all five of his runs in the first third of the game to take a comfortable 5-1 lead, but Obregón discounted with two at the end of the third inning and drew two more in the fifth.

Second baseman Moisés Gutiérrez hit a solo home run to break the tie in the sixth to command the Yaquis' comeback.

Carlos Sepúlveda went 3-2 with a home run and three RBIs, and Paulo Orlando had two hits and an RBI to also stand out in Obregon's attack.
