Celtics avoid Heat sweep by Jayson Tatum

Game XNUMX of the Eastern Conference finals will be played at the TD Garden

The Boston Celtics managed to hold out for one more night in the NBA Eastern Conference final after defeating the Miami Heat 116-99 at the Kaseya Center in the city of Miami.

The team was vastly superior after the second half of the game despite the good start that the Heat had in the first quarter.

The green squad's offense was led by Jayson Tatum, who achieved a double-double by scoring 33 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

“Tonight we played with rhythm and with purpose. We were able to stop their attacks. We did well in transition. You see layups and free throws come in … and jump shots start to feel a lot easier,” Tatum said.

He was backed by Jaylen Brown with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists; in addition to Derrick White with another 16 goals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists

“We cannot relax. We have to keep the same level of intensity, the same mentality, the same focus in the next game,” said coach Joe Mazzulla.

Like every night in this series, the Heat's leading scorer was Jimmy Butler with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. However, the little support from his teammates offensively did not allow him to turn the score around at the end.

Now the series is 3-1 and the next game between the Celtics and the Heat will be played at the TD Garden in Boston.
