the South American Cup resumes

After twenty days, after the recess for the date FIFA, the ball will roll again this Wednesday in the semifinals of the South American Cup 2019 in which the fight for the title was left in the hands of clubs from three countries: Brazil, Argentina and Ecuador.

The tournament will have an unprecedented champion on November 9 since none of the four semifinalists, Colón, Atlético Mineiro, Independiente del Valle and Corinthians, have conquered it.

By countries, Argentina dominates the tournament with eight titles, Brazil has won four and Ecuador, one.

In the quarterfinals, the Brazilians Atlético Mineiro and Corinthians certified their pass to the semifinals by leaving Colombian La Equidad and also Brazilian Fluminense on the way, respectively.

The Argentine Colón took the Venezuelan Zulia out of the way and the Ecuadorian Independiente del Valle did the same with the Argentine Independiente de Avellaneda.

Corinthians and Independiente del Valle will open the semifinals this Wednesday in Sao Paulo.

Fábio Carille's 'Timao' hopes to take advantage of the South American home field, a tournament in which he is undefeated in 14 games, with 7 wins and 7 draws.

Corinthians is also making good progress in the Brazilian championship, where it ranks fifth with 32 points. However, they lost 1-0 on their visit to Fluminense this Sunday.

Its rival in the South American, Independiente del Valle, led by the Spanish Miguel Ángel Ramírez, is second in Ecuadorian soccer with 48 units. He fell 0-2 on Wednesday against líder Macará, who is 56, in a match on the twenty-fifth date that was brought forward due to his participation in the South American.

The second semifinal match will be played next Thursday in Argentina by Colón and Atlético Mineiro.

Pablo Lavallén's sabaleros played this Saturday at home and defeated San Lorenzo 2-1 for the sixth date of the Argentine Super League in which they are fourteenth with seven units.

The Galo, for his part, fell this Sunday at his stadium 0-1 against Avaí and is ninth with 27 points.

On September 25 and 26, the finalists of the contest will be known when the return matches are played.
