Conmebol requires full vaccination against Covid

Players and coaching staff must have full doses

The South American Football Confederation, better known by its acronym as CONMEBOL, issued a statement this Friday, announcing that anti-Covid-19 tests will no longer be mandatory.

On the other hand, if it requires that each of the parties such as players, coaching staff and managers must comply with the full vaccination dose if they will be present in any of the competitions in which CONMEBOL will be the organizing entity.

That is, Copa Suramericana, Copa Libertadores and Recopa, likewise local and visiting clubs must adapt according to the health orders of each country.

In some Latin American countries, governments have lifted the mandatory mask order, while others still must continue to use it.

At the moment it is unknown if there are players in Venezuela and on the continent who are anti-vaccine, a situation like this could take them away from the fields.

In the case of the national territory, the vaccination program is free and several pharmaceutical franchises provide the service.

In case of infections

If a positive case is presented, Conmebol recommended in its new provision that its Medical Commission be informed "immediately".

In this situation, the club doctor is responsible for monitoring, the evaluation of the infected person and ensuring that they comply with isolation.

Likewise, it established that the Conmebol Medical Commission is "the only one responsible for approving or rejecting the registration request" signed by the team's doctor.
