Since last June 14, the biggest tournament for League of Legends: Wild Rift organized by Riot Games, the "Icons Global Championship" will bring together the 24 best teams from 8 different regions at the Singapore Suntec Convention and Exhibition Center for define who will be the world champion.
This first week began the Play-In of the tournament where teams like JD Gaming, Vivo KEYD, SK T1, Rex Regum Queon, Unsold Stuff Gaming and one of the Latin American representatives in the event, STMN Esports had their first meetings.
Until July 9, the clashes between the teams qualified for the Icons Global Championship will continue to define the champion.
The tournament will have a total of 2 million dollars in prizes to be distributed, in which STMN Esports (originally from Mexico) and Furious Gaming (originally from Argentina) will be the ones representing Latin America in this first competitive season for the discipline of Wild Rift since its release in 2021.
For the next several weeks, this Play-In will be a double-elimination format with best-of-3 matches. Only the top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the main stage.
Starting Thursday, June 16, duels will be held between the winners of each group to define who will go to the main stage. On June 18, the round of 8 phase of the Play-In will begin to decide who joins the other XNUMX that are already installed in the group phase.
The knockout stage of the tournament will take place from June 1-9 and will feature a single-elimination format from the quarterfinals to its grand finale with best-of-5 matches.
