First Olympic eSports week is held in 2023

The best of esports (hybrid and simulated physical sports) will be showcased at the four-day festival

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has confirmed that its inaugural Olympic Esports Week will take place in Singapore between June 22-25, 2023.

The announcement marks the next big step to support the development of esports within the Olympic Movement and further engage with competitive gamers.

In association with the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Singapore Sports and the Singapore National Olympic Committee (SNOC).

Olympic Esports Week will showcase the best of esports—hybrid physical and simulated sports—at the four-day festival.

The event also includes the latest technology showcase, panel discussions, educational sessions and exhibition matches.

The highlight of the week will be the first live finals of the Olympic Esports Series.

A virtual and simulated global sports competition created in collaboration with International Federations (IFs).

The contest builds on the successes of last year's Virtual Olympic Series. The 2021 series drew more than 250 entrants from 000 countries who competed in virtual and simulated sports including baseball, motorsports, cycling, rowing and sailing.

At the moment the organizers have not announced which will be the disciplines included in the event.

At the beginning of November, the Worlds final, the League of Legends world tournament, was held.

Details, including how to be a part of the first Olympic Esports Week and the Olympic Esports Series, will be revealed in early 2023.
