Barcelona center-back Gerard Piqué, who retired injured in the right knee in the 62nd minute of the match against Atlético de Madrid (1-0) suffers "a sprain in his right knee" although he is "pending further tests" informed the Barcelona club.

“Gerard Piqué has a sprained right knee. Pending more tests to know the exact extent of the injury ”, clarified Barcelona through the social network Twitter.

Piqué's injury occurred in an Atlético attack, in which Argentine Ángel Correa, who had been staggered by Jordi Alba, fell on Piqué's right knee and quickly showed signs of great pain.

The Barça center-back walked away but without flexing his right knee, and was quickly replaced by the American Sergiño Dest.

For its part, Barcelona reported that Sergi Roberto, who was injured after a shot on goal in the final moments, suffers "a muscle injury in the rectus femoris of the right thigh", and is also awaiting further tests to know the exact extent of injury.
