Argentine coach Antonio "Turco" Mohamed will lead the powerful Atlético Mineiro, the current champion of Brazil and who will play the Copa Libertadores de América, the Brazilian club reported this Thursday.
"We hired Antonio Mohamed for a year, until December, with the possibility of continuing," said the football director of the Belo Horizonte team.
Venezuelan Jefferson Savarino will be led in the 2022 campaign by the "Turco" who has experience on the bench for South American teams.
Winning the 2010 Copa Sudamericana with Independiente de Argentina, while in his time in Mexico he can be defined as successful.
The 51-year-old Mohamed will replace Alexi Stival, who last season led Galo to win the Brasileirao for the first time since 1971, as well as the Copa do Brasil and the Mineiro Championship.
Stival resigned at the end of December citing personal issues.
